The National Do Not Call Registry is a free and easy way to reduce the number of telemarketing calls you receive. To register your phone number, go to www.donotcall.gov, or call 1-888-382-1222 from the phone number you want to register. Within 31 days you should notice a difference in the number of telemarketing calls that you receive.

The Do Not Call Improvement Act of 2007 was instituted in February 2008 and keeps registered numbers listed indefinitely with no renewal needed.

Opt-Out of The Companies You Have Accounts With:  Most credit card, retail store and fuel card companies share your personal information with other companies and divisions.  You can Opt-Out by finding the company’s Privacy Policy online or in the brochure that you received from them.

For maximum reduction of solicitation calls, you can Opt-Out of both “affiliated” and “non-affiliated” companies.  Be careful to only Opt-Out of the Privacy Statement, not the Changes to Your Account as this could make the company close your account.
